Statements

For offices using FlexPayments powered by Stripe. 

Legacy Payments users may notice differences in functionality, layout, terminology, and workflow steps.

 

The Statements log in Flex shows all statements sent from your practice. Use this guide to review delivery history, payment activity, status, payment details, resend unpaid statements or take additional action when needed. 

Access:

  1. On the Flex Homepage, click the Payments icon.$.png
  2. The Statements tab is selected by default:

Search and Filter

Select Search or set filters to narrow results. Available parameters include: 

  • Patient's First Name
  • Patient's Last Name
  • Date Range for Sent statements
  • Date Range for Paid statements
  • Payment Status: All, Paid, and Unpaid.

Understanding Your Statements List

The report includes:

  • Sent: The date the initial invoice was delivered to the patient.
  • Name: The patient's full name as it appears in Open Dental.
  • To: The specific destination (phone or email) where the statement was sent.
    • A mobile number confirms a text message was sent to this specific line.
    • An email address confirms an email was sent to this specific inbox.
  • Payment: Displays the credit card brand and the last 4 digits used for the transaction.
  • Amount: The balance requested from the patient on the statement.
  • Resends: A quick count of how many times this statement has been re-delivered to the patient.
  • Last Resent: The most recent date a follow-up was sent.
  • Opened: A simple Yes or No, giving you insight into whether the patient has viewed their invoice.
  • Amount Paid: The actual dollar amount collected toward the invoiced balance.
  • Paid On: This is the date the patient made their payment.
  • Actions: Available actions differ based on whether the statement is paid or unpaid.

 

Available Actions

Choose the Actions menu to access available options.

Note: Statement payments can be refunded only after the payment has been processed. The Void/Return option functions as a refund.

 

Viewing Paid and Unpaid Statements

Statements are itemized, and payments are applied to individual procedure codes.

Select a statement to review the charges it includes.
