Flex users have 2 options when texting patients. The first is through your Flex Homepage using the browser and the 2nd is through the FlexCommunicator desktop application. In this article, we will be reviewing both of these options.
Browser Texting:
Once logged into your Flex Homepage you will find the option to send a text via the browser by selecting the text icon located in the upper left toolbar.
Select “Text Messages” and texting through the browser will load.
After selecting ‘text messages’, you will find a log of previous messages on the left of the screen and options for sending messages.
To pin/save an incoming or outgoing message, select the “Star” when hovering over the message you would like to save. The pinned message will remain at the top of your list as if it has not been read until it has been unpinned. Once unpinned the message will fall back in line with your previous messages.
When selecting “Text a Group” you will have the following options:
Once you have your desired group selected, simply click “Use Selected” on the lower right of the screen, compose your message, and click send. The message will be sent individually to the selected recipients.
Flex Communicator:
Flex Communicator is a separate desktop application, we recommend downloading this on all computers within the office. To download follow these steps in this article: How to Download the Flex Communicator↗️
Once downloaded it is helpful to “pin” the Flex Communicator to your taskbar by right-clicking and selecting “Pin to Taskbar”. For more details on setting up your communicator, check out this resource: How to Setup the Flex Communicator↗️
Your Flex Communicator will share the same login credentials as your Flex. Once logged in you will see there are 3 functionalities:

After selecting the text bubble, you will find all of your options for sending a text.
Use the 'send arrow' to push the message to your patients.
