How to Create, Assign, and Resolve User Tasks

Available to all Flex users. Currently in Beta.

The Tasks panel gives your team a centralized view of all tasks from creation to completion. This guide covers how to open the panel, create tasks, filter tasks, and take action.

Opening the Tasks Panel

The blue circle indicator on the Tasks button signals that there are items waiting for your attention.

To open the Tasks panel, select Tasks in the top right corner of Today’s Huddle or Yesterday’s Scorecard.

Creating Tasks

  1. In the top right corner of the tasks panel, select +New Task.                                                                              Tasks_1 Active-Unassigned_Highlight Create New Task Button.jpg
  2. Add the task details in the Description field. 
  3. In the Link patient dropdown, search by name to select a patient.
  4. Select a team member from the Assignee dropdown.
  5. Click Create Task to save; select Cancel or the X to close without saving.

Note: A description is required before Create Task becomes active. Link patient and Assignee are optional.

Filtering Tasks

The panel organizes tasks by:

  • Active: Tasks that have not yet been completed.
    • All: Every active task, assigned and unassigned.
    • My Tasks: Tasks assigned to you.
    • Unassigned: Tasks not yet assigned to a team member.
  • Completed: Tasks marked as complete.

Tasks at a Glance

Each task displays the following based on how the task was created and assigned:

  • Patient Name: First or preferred name, and last name.
  • Description: The text manually entered into the description field when the task was created.
  • Scorecard: The huddle metric associated with this task.
  • Assigned To: The team member responsible for follow-up.
  • Date and Time: When the task was created.

Note: A user name is displayed only when the task is assigned.

Taking Action on Tasks

  • Mark Complete
    • Select the checkmark icon next to an assigned task to mark it as complete. ⚠️Note: Completed tasks cannot be reopened.                                                                                     

  • Assign an Unassigned Task
    • Select the Assign icon to the right of an unassigned task to designate a team member for follow-up. Task-single_Highlight on Assign Task.jpg
  • Unassign a Task
    • Select the X icon next to an assigned task to remove the assignment.   • Delete a Task
    • Select the Delete icon to the right of an unassigned task to delete it permanently. Task-single_Highlight on Delete Task.jpg

💡Pro Tips for Success

  • Check My Tasks at the start of each day to see exactly what has been assigned to you.
  • Review Unassigned regularly to make sure every patient on the list has a team member responsible for follow-up.
  • Select All for a full picture of your team’s active workload at any given time.
