Presenting treatment shouldn't slow your team down or leave patients with more questions than answers.
This video introduces two settings that save chair time, reduce front desk follow-up, and give every patient a clear, consistent experience.
Both settings can be used together to ensure every treatment plan will display the same itemized detail and consistent note, regardless of who on your team is presenting.
Two Simple Settings. A Big Impact.
Default Itemized View: By default, Flex displays a clean summarized treatment plan view. But for patients who want the full picture, switching to the itemized view gives them a complete breakdown of procedure codes, fees, and insurance estimates.
- To set itemized view as your practice default:
- Go to Flex Settings.
- Admin permissions are needed to access Settings. Learn more in this guide: How Do I Change User's Permissions?↗️
- Select the Treatment Plan tab.
- In General Settings, scroll down and click the toggle to enable Itemize Treatment Plans by Default.
- Choose Save in the bottom right to apply changes.
- Go to Flex Settings.
Treatment Plan Note Settings: When enabled, the Treatment Note from Open Dental automatically displays on every Flex treatment plan when it first loads, replacing the need to manually add the note to individual plans.
- To include the Treatment Note on every plan:
- Go to Flex Settings.
- Admin permissions are needed to access Settings. Learn more in this guide: How Do I Change User's Permissions?↗️
- Select the Treatment Plan tab.
- In General Settings, scroll down and click the toggle to enable Display Treatment Note by Default.
- Choose Save in the bottom right to apply changes.
- Go to Flex Settings.
