How Do I Change User's Permissions?

Flex has two types of users:

  • Administrators
  • Users

The main difference between the two is that 'administrators' are allowed to access 'Flex Settings' while 'users' cannot.

You may also adjust other features on a per-user basis. For example, allow refunds if your office utilizes FlexPay.

To find out which of your users are Admins vs. Users and what permissions they have, start by accessing the Flex Settings, navigate to the 'Server' tab, and select 'USER SETUP':

Flex will now open a new window that shows all of your users, users are pulled from your Open Dental users. The following options, per user, will display: 

  • Change password
  • Access (Administrator vs User)
  • User enabled
  • Allow refunds (FlexPay required)
  • Allow recurring payments (FlexPay required)
  • Allow huddle
  • Allow financial graphs on huddle report
  • Allow insights

 

*Please note, you are not able to change your own (currently logged in) user from Admin to User.
This is a safeguard to ensure there is always at least 'one' admin user in the list for settings access.
