How to View Your Schedule in Flex

Your schedule gives you a clear view of each day's appointments and helps your team stay on track. Flex pulls patient and appointment data directly from Open Dental so your schedule is always up to date.

This guide covers how to view, use, navigate, and customize your schedule in Flex.

 

Log In to Flex

Start by logging into your Flex website.

  • Your Flex website will look like this: https://custom.myflex.app:45622
    • The word custom will be replaced with your practice's unique name.
    • You can find your exact link in your post-installation email from Flex.

Once you log in, you will see the Flex Home Page, which shows today's schedule. Homepage_7.14_NoCarousel.jpg

 

Understanding the Schedule View

The Flex schedule includes helpful appointment details at a glance:

  • Warnings if a patient is missing a valid email or wireless phone number
    • These details affect automated communications

How to Navigate the Schedule

You can view different days using the navigation tools at the top of the schedule.

  • Click the left ( < ) or right ( > ) arrows to move one day back or forward at a time. 
  • Click the date between the arrows to return to today's date.                                                             Date_Scroll_Arrows.jpg
  • Use the date picker to the right of the arrows to select a specific date. Homepage_DatePicker_7.14.0.jpg
  • Within the date picker:
    • In the top left, use the drop down menu to find a specific day and year.
    • In the top right, use the left ( < ) and right ( > ) arrows to move back or forward one month at a time. Homepage_DatePickerWindow_7.14.0.jpg

These options make it easy to plan ahead or review past appointments.

 

Filter by Operatory (Quick Filter)

If you want to focus on a specific operatory:

  • Use the gray bar at the top of your schedule to select one or all operatories
  • This will instantly filter your schedule to show only appointments in the selected operatory or operatories.

💡Pro Tip: This is a temporary view and is helpful when focusing on certain rooms or team members throughout the day.

 

Configure Your Schedule (Customize Your View)

Each user who logs in to Flex can customize what they see on their schedule page.

By default, Flex shows all operatories and all patients with appointments today, including completed appointments. If you prefer a cleaner view, you can adjust it.

To customize your schedule view:

  1. In the top-right corner of the schedule, click the Change View icon. Homepage_ChangeViewIcon_7.14.0.jpg
  2. In the 'Configure your schedule' window you can:
    • Hide completed appointments 
    • Show or hide individual operatories
  3. Click Save Changes to apply your preferences Homepage_ChangeViewWindow_7.14.0.jpg

Notes:

    • Click close to exit the view settings without saving changes
    • You can update these settings at any time using the same icon

Once saved, your view settings will stay the same every time you log in. This allows each team member to see only what is most relevant to them.
