Where Can I Access Flex?

In Office (Staff):

If you are in the office your best method is to utilize your custom Flex website, template/example: https://custom.myflex.app:45622

  • Your practice's Flex website/URL will have a unique identifier that replaces the 'custom' part of the example website above and can be found in the post-installation email.
  • We do recommend bookmarking your Flex URL and/or adding a program link to your Open Dental.
  • Click HERE for more information on logging into Flex.

In Office (Patients):

When a patient needs to complete a Flex Form (New Patient Form or Health History Update), or Consent Form(s), and/or you would like to use Flex to present treatment plans and/or membership plans we recommend using a tablet. Be sure your tablet is connected to your secure Wi-Fi and use the same website mentioned above.

  • Click HERE for more information on setting up tablets.

Out Of Office Use (Scheduling/Patient Texting):

To gain limited remote access, when you are not in the office, we suggest using the Flex Mobile App. The Flex Mobile App allows you to create, edit, and delete appointments as well as send and receive text messages.

  • Flex Mobile can be found in the FlexMobile tab of your Flex settings and is compatible with both Android and Apple Operating Systems.
  • Cell phones are the primary use case, however, it will work with tablets if needed
    • PLEASE NOTE: Flex Mobile is intended for personal use only, it is NOT intended for use on your in-office tablets - see the previous section for in-office tablet setup.
  • Click HERE to learn how to add your device to gain access and configure your settings.

Out Of Office Full Flex Use:

If you're out of the office but still want to log in and have full use of Flex on your PC, we recommend working with your IT to set up a remote desktop connection or a VPN. This will allow you to have full remote access to Flex with the same website link mentioned previously.

Please Note:

In all of the above-mentioned scenarios, it is essential for your local server with Flex installed to be actively running and connected to the internet. Flex will be unable to operate if there is a power outage or if the server is offline.
