How Do I Send Post-Op Forms?

Post-op forms can be sent manually and/or automatically! Instructions for both are below. 

(Available in version 4.14.0 and later)

 

Send Manually:

Post Op Forms can be sent manually from a patient’s landing page. To do so simply click on the ‘Postops’ icon located on the upper left menu of a patient’s landing page: 

 

You will now see a list of your Post-Op Forms to select from. You can send one or multiple Post-Ops at a time by selecting the desired Post-Op(s) and choosing to send via email or text: 

 

 

Send via Automation:

Post-Op Forms can be automated using Flex. Flex will automatically send Post-Op Forms after an appointment has been set complete in Open Dental based on the procedure codes or categories attached to the completed appointment.

To automate your Post-Ops you will need to link the desired Post-Op to procedure codes or categories in your Flex settings. To do so, follow these steps: Settings > Forms > Post-Op Forms.

For Flex to automatically send your Post-Op Forms these three steps must be completed: 

1. Enable the 'Send Post-Op Forms' toggle and its respective sending method (email/text):

2. Link your post-op forms to specific procedure codes or categories:

3. Once linked, you must complete the patient's 'appointment' in Open Dental with the procedure codes or categories attached and Flex will send the linked Post-Op Form(s) via text and/or email based on your settings.

*Please Note: only setting the procedure code status to ‘complete’ will not automate the Post-Op, the procedure code must be attached to an appointment that has been ‘set complete’.
